Hindi Varna Bodh Class Notes – Sunday, August 10

Namaste class,

I am sending some of the Hindi class emails for previous weeks, as I have become delinquent in sending out these emails.

On Sunday, August 10, we covered the lesson at the top of page 33 (पाठ १). I read the lesson and gave the translation (which is on page 62). I then selected a few students to read. I explained that these sentences were ‘imperatives’, that is, sentences that give instructions, orders, or commands. We then converted some of these Imperative sentences in the lesson into Present Indefinite Tense (or Present Tense). For example:

1. Mohan now gets up.
मोहन अब उठता है.

2. Seeta speaks the truth
सीता सच बोलती है

3. They taste the mango.
वे आम चखते हैं

4. Leela fills the pitcher.
लीला घट भरती है.

5. We do respect.
हम आदर करते हैं.

6. The cat comes this side.
बिल्ली इधर आता है.

7. Father does exercise.
पिताजी कसरत करते हैं.

Regards,
Vasudev.
