Hindi Varna Bodh Class Notes – Sunday, March 22

Namaste class,

This Sunday (Sunday, March 22), we corrected the sentences that I gave in our last class:
1. Go to the office
कार्यालय जा
2. Eat the pear
नाशपाती खाओ
3. Sing the bhajan
भजन गा
4. Play the sitar
सितार बजा
5. Make paratha
पराठा बनाओ

One point to note is that Google Translate is generally good for translating individual words from English into Hindi, but gets some trouble translating sentences. In addition, words that have double meanings can give Google Translate some challenges (for example, ‘play’ can mean ‘खेल’ or ‘बजा‘).

We then covered lesson 3 on page 34 of the Hindi Vivek Part One. I read through the lesson and translated it, and then had different persons read the sentences.
For homework, you had to write the Hindi sentences in lesson three in your books with the English translation (if you had not done so already), and then learn the sentences.
Regards,
Vasudev.
